Giovanni Leo about the award:

"The Desertec Best Paper Award 2012 has been a great opportunity for us to showcase our research and discuss its findings with highly relevant policymakers, government officials, project developers and financiers. We enjoyed participating in the debate on key issues that need to be addressed in order to make the Desertec vision a reality, appreciating how powerful, complex and ambitious the project of an integrated EU-MENA power system can be."

The Desertec Best Paper Award was sponsored by Deutsche Bank.
